How it works 

Informed and Compliant Status 

  1. Register for the scheme (requires payment - starting from £500 per year for entry level minimum standards self audit)
  2. Receive e-mail confirmation with password
  3. Your company name will appear on the password protected ICE members page
  4. Access ICE Complaince audit documentation and supporting documentation
  5. Collate all necessary supporting documentation for your ICE application
  6. Complete the on-line self-audit, upload supporting documentation and submit application
  7. ICE Adminstrator will review your submission and confer 'Informed' status
  8. Your company name will appear on the password protected ICE members page as being 'Informed'
  9. Request an on-site audit by contacting This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
  10. A licensed ICE Compliance auditor will conduct an on-site audit to verify you self audit information
  11. 'Compliant' status will be confered on satisfactory dyehouses and wherever possible action plans will be given to those who do not pass
  12. Your company name will appear on the password protected ICE members page as being 'Compliant'

 Excellent Status

  • 'Excellent' status cannot be attained without meeting 'Compliant' status, although a dual audit can be requested.
  • The Dyehouse excellence manual can be downloaded even if a dyehouse does not want to complete a dyehouse excellence audit 
  • A dyehouse can upload a dyehouse excellence self-audit even if they don't want to request an on-site dyehouse excellence audit.
  • A dyehouse excellence audit can be resuested for either 'Excellent' certification or purely to get an expert opinion on areas for improvement
  1. Register for the scheme as above
  2. Select the 'dyehouse excellence' option (available May 2008) to access the audit and supporting documentation
  3. Collate all necessary supporting documentation for you ICE excellence application
  4. Complete the on-line self-audit, upload supporting documentation and submit to the ICE administrator

  6. A licesnsed ICE Compliance auditor will carry out an on-site audit to verify the information provided in your self audit
  7. 'Excellent' status will be confered on satisfactory dyehouses and action plans provided for those who fall short of the 'Excellent' standards
  8. Successful applicants' company names will appear on the password protected ICE members page as being 'Excellent'

Detailed improvement plans can be requested from ICE Excellence auditors but prices for these services will need to be negotiated outside the ICE Compliance scheme
